Marriage Difficulties
I would like to take a little time to give some feedback on my experience with Rhema Counselling. My husband and I recently went through a difficult time as a result of addiction on his part. We have spent the last year working to recover from this with the help of Paul Linley. I truly believe that God brought him and Rhema into our lives at the point of our greatest despair.

I am certain that the reason for his counselling being so successful is that God is the centre and Paul has always made Him the focus from Day 1. It was important to me that my husband receive the help he needed but that we, as a couple also receive counselling. With Paul and his wife, Jane's help we were able to achieve this.

I have re-ignited my relationship with God and learned how to truly trust Him for everything. Through counselling I have been able to confront and deal with my own personal shortcomings so that I can become the woman that God always intended me to be.

My husband and I have truly placed God at the centre of everything and we have a commitment to our marriage and a love for each other that I would never have thought possible. We cannot thank Paul, Jane and Rhema enough.

Counselling
Prior to starting counselling with this service, I was very sceptical due to bad experiences in the past. I felt like this was my only hope because I had honestly hit rock bottom. From the very first meeting with my counsellor, I felt comfortable in opening up to her. I have discussed things with her that have weighed heavy on me for a long time as I had kept them locked away. I have always struggled to show my emotions but she made me feel safe enough that I could express exactly how I felt and I could openly cry without any embarrassment. She recognised so many positive features in me that I couldn’t see in myself. I have gone from being completely broken to a strong woman that is ready to go back to work and be a proud mother. She has explained to me that it won’t always be plain sailing but I am able to face each challenge that comes. I honestly cannot thank her enough for all the things she has done for me and I would recommend her to anyone. She is exactly what is needed within the mental health services, non-judgemental and a genuinely wonderful person.  

Boundaries Course
'The Boundaries Course' opened my eyes even more to the fact, I needed to put boundaries in place with certain people and also that I will always have to do this for the rest of my life.

I have already started to implement boundaries and if feels freeing and empowering for me to be able to say NO.

Counselling
The counsellor was a fantastic source of support at a time when I really needed it. There were times where my young daughter would wake up and interrupt the session but the counsellor managed that well and also interacted warmly and welcoming with my daughter.

The counsellor understood in-depth what my issues were and great care was taken throughout the sessions to make me feel safe

I strongly agree that the counsellor helped me to gain positive outlook from my counselling sessions and I'm looking forward to the new me!
